W.E.I.R.D. Pt 3: Walking on Sand and 21SICK: Coming Soon

Hey ya'll. A few things before I explain this post. I'm not going to do much for August on the blog. I was mad busy and had a nice break for this month. The Black Out Show, Krazie Bones Showcase along side my homie Lucky, Nas and getting hip to Apollo Brown .... I got overworked. July was a dope month for hip hop this year. Glad to do my thing with it. So, what to expect for the future ......? Just like the first time around, nothing. Ya'll should know me by now. What should pop in the next year, a new album from my homie Atari Jones titled "Weird Pt. 3" (I'm the DJ for it), my #21SICK mixtape, some more shows from RXR (that's RhymeXReason) and two new affiliates: Da Entourage DJ's and Sandbox Bullies.

Thank you to everyone who has checked out the site. I love ya'll for that. I'm a keep blazing ya'll with the dopeness until there is nothing left. Also, I've never shown love to my fam, so shout out to my brothers (if you follow me on twitter you'll see them sooner or later) and RIP to Pamela Majette, one of my biggest inspirations to step forward with music. Last night my homeboy DJ Nomadic (Invasion DJ's) hit me up on twitter telling me to check out for his new mixtape, Fin De Style. I started listening to it today and I'm really happy with what he was able to do with this tape. It has a real underground feel to it, a lot of songs you would consider B-Side records. Dope mixtape overall. If you need some dope chill music, something to get high to, just relax ...... then you need to grab this. Oh yeah, this tape seems to be heavily inspired by Adult Swim, before they started showing Family Guy marathons. They need to bring the Anime back. Peace.

Underground Artist Pick: Atari Jones

Atari Jones, an up and coming rapper out of Cleveland, hit me up on Twitter one day and told me to check out his new mixtape titled W.E.I.R.D. Pt. 2.  I gave it a listen and was impressed with what I heard. Dude is doing his thing right now and is trying to take over for the summer of 2012 and after. The videos bellow are titled Ramblen, off of W.E.I.R.D. Pt. 2, and Suicide. Check out his new mixtape on datpiff.com when you get a minute.

Bad Ass Movie Review

I won't make a habit out of this with the reviews and all but someone told me that they made a movie about Epic Beard Man (EBM. Ya'll remember him ...... amberlamps) so I had to watch it and do a quick review for it. Actual, this isn't a review. More like a crappy promotional job on my end. Bad Ass is a movie based off of EBM getting into a fight on a bus and become a internet icon overnight. Of course you wouldn't have much of a movie without adding more to it and that's what director Craig Moss and company did. Frank Vega, played by Danny Trejo (Machete, Grindhouse) loses his best friend over a political scandal and now he is out for revenge. Add a few decent fight scenes and some so so music and you have the movie Bad Ass. The movie also stars Charles S. Dutton (Roc, Aliens 3) and Ron Perlman (Hellboy, Drive). Overall, it's not that bad of a movie. The movie makes fun of the original EBM video on Youtube quoting lines like "You leaking" and "Call the amberlamps (ambulance)". They did a good job not throwing too many bad jokes about the EBM video though. To be honest there's not many at all. If your bored I would say that this movie is worth it to kill time, but that's it. Not one to add to your collection.

Overall: 2.5/5

The movie is entertaining. Its cool that someone wanted to make a movie based off of EBM but I don't think this is something the average person was looking forward to see. So so acting didn't help this movie much but it is still a decent flick.

Uncle Drew Got Game

I heard about this on 92.3 The Fan a little while ago. Cleveland Cavalier Kyrie Irving took to the courts of New Jersey dressed up as a old man named Uncle Drew. At first dude makes it seem that I could take him on a one on one game but he quickly changes things. From crossing over cats, to half court shots, even throwing the ball off of the back board and catching it to "Throw the Hammer Down!" Uncle Drew gets it in. Shout out to Pepsi Max and Kyrie Irving for putting together a very dope video. Peace.

I came across this last night. Someone found this on youtube and posted the video on another site. I absolutely love how this was done. Remix is dope and the editing for the video is outstanding. This was done by a cat named Oddisee, who I don't know much about but I'm will start paying attention to this cat after this. He have a album coming out on June 5th through iTunes called "People Hear What They See" (dope title actually). You can check him out more on his blog page HERE. Peace.
