Common - The Light Blend

Common - The Light Majette Blend

DJ Dummy is one of the reason why I spin. I saw him at a live show and my cousin and I both said "We can do this too". Boy, were we ever so wrong. I mean, we came around later, but this guy puts on a show like its no ones business. Might be the best performance I've ever seen during a set, next to DJ Craze when he came to Metropolis a few years back.

So what does DJ Dummy have to do with this blend? Well DJ Dummy happens to be Commons DJ and Common is by far my favorite emcee dead or alive. This dude made me appreciate hip hop. I bought VIP seats for his show, which were a complete waste because I was in VIP for about 5 seconds. Floetry opened up and killed it! Gangstarr followed after that. Best show I've seen yet.

Back to this blend. I found a instrumental by a very talented producer by the name of Freddie Joachim and mixed it in with the acapella of The Light. I'm really excited about this blend because this is the type of music I vibe out to and the fact I was able to do a blend for my favorite emcee of all time is just something in itself. lol don't know if I said that right or not. That's why I spin, not spit. Anyway, this link is at the top, not bottom like the rest. Hopefully you enjoyed the blend and the story behind it. Peace.

Banger of the Week!

What up people! This is for the hustlers thick as yellow chickens for the suck of it! Damn, a few weeks ago I said Nas was going in. Well, even though this joint is a few weeks old I felt like I had to give it some respect. Nas has been on his A+++ game as of late and this joint right here shows it. Nas - Nasty is my song of the week. To be honest it is my song of the month.

Banger of the Week

Raekwon Feat. Ghostface Killa, Jim Jones and Kobe - Rock and Roll

So this week I finally went out and got Raekwons "Shaolin VS Wu-Tang" and gave it a listen. There has been one song I've kept on repeat since I got the album. This is it. Song features Ghostface, Jim Jones and Kobe. I seriously have been banging this joint for a week straight. Just feel bad that I just got hip to this joint and the album has been out for some time now. This joint is a Problem!

A Marvin Gaye Blend!!!!!

Remembered how I said I worked on a few blends within the past few weeks. Well, here is another one. This blend has one of the greatest to cut R&B records. Marvin Gaye's Sexual Healing over a beat produced by the Neptune's. I'm still trying to figure out what I was smoking to get this one. Enjoy ladies and gents. Peace!

Blend: Kelly Rowland and Lil Wayne - Motivation

So I started working on some new blends a few weeks back. This was one of the ones I've came up with it. The feedback I have got for this song is a lot better than what I expected. I took the acapella from Motivation and mixed it over a classic joint from Project Pat. Be on the lookout for more blends and remixes. Peace.

Banger of the Week

Monica Featuring Lil Kim and Rick Ross - Anything

New song by Monica featuring Kim and Ross. This song is really dope. I can see this getting played a lot for the rest of the summer. The song has the same piano sample from Notorious Big's "Who Shot Ya". Looking forward to see how people react to this joint. Pretty hot song for the summer. Enjoy.

Meth Tape?

So my homie DJ Nomadic (check him out on twitter @idjnomadic) and I had this talk about putting together a mixtape a while back. Anyone who knows me knows I hate making them joints but I am always down for a colabo. We finally got it together this past week and came to the conclusion of making a mixtape dedicated to one of the hottest emcees to every touch a mic, Method Man. Hopefully we can do some justice to this mixtape. Release date is expected to be around early August. We are also trying to get Originaal of Rhyme and Reason to do the graphics for us (keep it in the family). I will try to keep you guys up to date about this project and will post more as we get more done. Peace!

So What To Expect for the Future .....

Expect nothing. I know this is a knock on myself but on the real this is my third time trying this. Nothing special happened the first two times so why should it happen now? I really can't make any promises about what's going to happen with the blog site. The only thing I can say is that I'm going to try. So if you are looking forward to something, stop that. It can happen, but history is saying otherwise. To those who have been around since day one, Thank You and sorry for making this the least entertaining thing on the planet. Well, that is all for today. I have some ideas to drop some stuff tomorrow. Lets see how it works out. Peace ladies and gents!

Rhyme and Reason - So Cool

So the last time I posted this video, I just gave you guys a link which is not cool. You should be able to view it here. So after half a year, two jobs and TWO professional sports lockouts I've finally figured it out. So once again, Rhyme and Reasons first music video titled "So Cool" directed by Phil Hoyt.

Banger of the Week

Common Featuring Nas - Ghetto Dreams

Its been a while since I've heard a rap song that made me jump out off my seat and go "DAMN!!!!". This song is a problem. Banging beat and Common and Nas murder the track. This is also the nicest I've heard Nas spit in a long time. Anticipation is high for both of their new projects thanks to this record.

What's Been Up?

Hey world. Had to dust off the cobwebs on the site. Haven't been up to much as of late. Over the past few months I've got a new 9-5, but haven't been too heavy on the music scene. I do have a new crew that is coming up in the Northeast Ohio area. So along with repping The Mighty R&R and Da Entourage I am also part of The Invasion. We are a new dj crew just trying to do our thing. You can catch us at the monthly known as The Jumpoff. I'll have more info on that later. Also be on the lookout for some new remixes I have been working on. I should be posting those soon. Well, that's about it ladies and gents. Be on the lookout for more info. I'll do my best to keep you posted. Peace.
